Okay, Class Samples are Here!

Hey, it’s been less than a month! Maybe I’m on a roll here!

After much effort, I finally have all the projects designed and samples made for the class I’ll be teaching at the Active Adult Center in Wheat Ridge, CO. The class is called Polymer Clay 101 and we’ll be making three projects.

0801161335a This bracelet is made with polymer clay using a technique known as marbling. After we make the beads, we’ll string them on Stretch Magic with some gold metal beads.

0801161335 This ornament combines stamping, using cutters, and a wee bit of sculpting. It’s fun, easy to make, and can be used as a package decoration as well as on the tree.

box This gift box is decorated with stamped and cut polymer clay further enhanced with mica powder. Mica has interesting reflective properties; the stuff I used is actually green! We’ll start with a paper mache’ box, paint it, and then decorate it.

I think the class will be a lot of fun and a well-rounded introduction to my favorite art medium. If you’re interested in finding out more, follow this link: Wheat Ridge Active Adult Center

Since this post is all about shameless self-promotion, I also want to let you know I will be at a craft show at Bwiched in Lakewood on August 13th. When I’m not wasting time on Facebook or writing blog posts, I’m hurriedly putting together steampunk stuff and, maybe, some interesting fairy garden pieces. I’ll try to get some pictures of that stuff up before the show, but I’m kind of pressed for time. They may get posted afterwards. If you’re interested in something, comment and we can discuss a custom piece for you. Here are some of the pieces sold at the last show or gifted to friends and family:

I hope to see you there! Now I have to go get back to work.
